This week I shot Still life/ Product. I made a mini studio by putting white paper around and under the different objects I chose, I used the flashlight on my phone for a light source to shine on the objects. I had to find random objects around my house and put them on the blank piece of paper. BEST PHOTO: f/3.6, 1/30, ISO400I touched up all of the photos in the Camera Raw Filter by adjusting the exposure, whites, clarity, and saturation.

This week we did a portrait assignment using Photoshop. We used layers, framing, resizing, and text. First, we went and took pictures by a window using a "bounce card" and the window light, then took pictures in a studio with different lights. Then we edited the photos in Photoshop, framing and resizing them.
This week, I shot the subject Black & White. It was kind of challenging to find subjects that would benefit being black and white. I went around my neighborhood and took some photos of different things. I took pictures of objects that looked cool in color, so it was tough when I turned them to black & white and they didn't look as neat. What I learned: I learned that you have to find objects that will look as cool in black & white as much as they look in color. BEST PHOTO: f/5.6, 1/60, ISO800I edited all of the photos in Camera Raw Filter by turning down the saturation, exposure, shadows, and blacks. This week I shot Light and Shadows. I enjoyed taking these photos because I thought it was fun to get christmas lights out and find objects to put them near. While taking the pictures of my cat with the lights, I had to keep moving around to get the right angle. It was challenging to focus the camera on the cat and other objects because the camera kept focusing on the lights only. What I learned: I learned that while shooting Light and Shadows, it may be challenging because a majority of the light from the christmas lights will ruin the photo, so you have to wait for the camera to focus on the subject in the photo. BEST PHOTO: ISO400, f/3.1, 1/30I edited the photo by going into Raw Camera Filter and adjusted the tint, exposure, clarity, shadows, and blacks. In this photoshop assignment, we edited a photo of a car by using cropping, clone tool, selection tools, levels, and layers. The selection tool and cloning tool was used to make the background all black. The levels and layers tool was used to touch up parts of the car. This assignment taught us some basic and advanced photo editing techniques.
This week, I shot the subject Nature. I went outside and shot some pictures of nature around my house. I moved a pumpkin near a flower pot to take some pictures. When I was taking pictures, a flock of birds flew above me. I quickly took some shots of them flying above, the pictures came out kind of blurry but they also looked pretty neat. When shooting nature, I learned that you have to move closer, not just zoom in on the camera. I also learned that when nature moves, you should adjust the shutter speed to capture the movement in the photo.
In this assignment, we took a photo and turned it into pop art. The image was put into photoshop and changed into red, green, blue, and yellow by changing the saturation, lightness, and hue. I really liked this assignment because I thought it was fun to edit the photos and make them different colors.
While shooting the subject Animal, I had to find an animal to take photos of. I took some photos of my cat from an interesting angle to show his face, but they weren't my favorite. I went outside and found a toad, I put it in my bike basket and started taking pictures when it climbed up the side of the basket. It took me awhile to take the best pictures of the animal because it kept moving around. I learned in this shoot that taking perfect pictures take time. Exposure triangle: f/4.1 1/110 ISO64 I edited the photo a little bit by adding some brightness and contrast. |
